Another Year Supporting CAMEO
The Band raised further funds for CAMEO

For a lot of years now, the band have joined Herne Bay Baptist Church to host an evening of music, all in aid of CAMEO (Come And Meet Each Other). One of the leaders of this group is Camilla Moore, who's husband Colin plays in the cornet section of our band.
We always look forward to this concert, and more so this year, as it was the first visit to the church by our newest Musical Director, Louis. With yummy cakes and plenty of fun, we raised £790 for CAMEO!
Read below, the letter received from Camilla.
Birchington Silver Band Revisited!
On Saturday evening, 16th May, it was concert time again at Herne Bay Baptist Church.
Birchington Silver Band, including our Colin playing the cornet, came along to give us all a wonderful evening of music and a good time was had by all. The band played a wide selection of popular tunes and some splendid marches and finished with a rousing rendition of YMCA, to which everyone joined in with the actions. During the interval everyone enjoyed some refreshments, including home-made cakes, before settling down to enjoy the second half of the evening.
I would like to say a very big thank you to all those who helped to make the evening such a success, including the teams who dealt with the refreshments, the administration, the sound desk and overhead operators, those who moved the chair, and everyone who worked so hard to make the entire evening so successful.
It was lovely to see the church so full, nearly 100 in all, and the funds raised on the evening will go towards some special activities for our CAMEO group.
The band are looking forward to being back next year, hope to see you too!
Camilla
