Another Incredible Success at HBBC
What a wonderful evening we had recently at Herne Bay Baptist Church, thanks to the tireless efforts of Camilla and Colin in organising the Birchington Silver Band event! With 110 people present, the atmosphere was filled with joy, laughter, and unity as we all came together to celebrate music and community.
The excitement in the room was palpable, with clapping, cheering and even spontaneous singing from enthusiastic audience. One of the highlights of the evening was when we all joined in for the beloved classics, including "Bluebirds Over the White Cliffs of Dover" and 'We'll Meet Again". When "We'll Meet Agin" played, I imagine many people found themselves transported back in time, dreaming of reunions and fond memories. My personal favourite moment came when the band played the iconic Bond theme. I think we can all agree that possibly every man in the room envisioned himself as James Bond while the women, vividly imaging themselves as Bond girls, added to the fun and excitement of the evening!
A heartfelt thank you goes out to the Birchington Silver Band and their talented director of music, Stuart Cates, for the extraordinary performance. The music they provided not only entertained but also moved us deeply. I must say, it was an emotional moment when they played the National Anthem. The hairs on the back of my neck stood up as a few ex-military members came forward to show their respect, saluting as we all stood together in reverence. The entire event ended with a wave of applause and an encore that truly showcased the appreciation the audience had for the band's remarkable talent and our shared experience.
We also want to comment every member of the audience, as your participation and continued support over the years have been integral to the success of such events. Your enthusiasm that is so vital to our church family.
We also echo Camilla's message:
CAMEO THANKS YOU!
The CAMEO Team would like to thank all those who helped at the Birchington Silver Band Concert on Saturday. It was a great success and £705 was raised for a future CAMEO activity.
